DHS SPORTS AWARDS - Varsity Letters & Pins:
A. The first Varsity award for all DHS Sports shall be a block “D" white on purple monogram WITH a sport specific pin, plus a DHS Athletics paper meritorious/participation certificate.
B. For any additional varsity letters (earned) in the same sport or for ANY other DHS varsity sport, student-athletes will receive ONLY a specific sport pin to place on their original “D” varsity letter. (Additional varsity "D" letters ARE NOT awarded for additional varsity sports or seasons).
C. A four year letter winner in a sport will receive special recognition (or an award/TBD) by the Head Coach or DHS Athletic Dept.
D. DHS student-athletes will only be awarded ONE VARSITY LETTER “D” in his/her/their high school career (but could earn multiple VARSITY sport pins).
E. JV & First Team players will not be awarded a varsity letter or a pin for a sport season, unless the player was elevated to the varsity team for the majority of the playing season. All JV & First Team players will receive a paper meritorious/participation certificate for each season played.
